Improving Digital Pedagogical Competences of VET Teachers in the Tourism Sector
IMDIPET PROJECT
THE CONTEXT
New challenges have emerged in the educational field due to Covid-19 situation, such as school closures (partial or total) and the shift to online and distance learning. Teachers often lack of digital education knowledge and readiness and need to adapt the materials content used in digital education to make it more attractive and interactive to involve better the students in the process of learning. Their attention could be much better preserved if the learning material were presented differently. This can be achieved by transforming the learning content, including gamification as a pedagogical approach in the vocational e-learning process.

THE PROJECT

February 2023
The aim of the ImDiPeT project is to equip VET teachers and trainers in the tourism sector with digital pedagogical competences required to face the mentionned above challenges, in order to safeguard the inclusive nature of learning opportunities and to provide high quality digital education.

THE OBJETIVES
OBJECTIVE N°1
Develop and use open educational resources, open textbooks and free and open-source educational software.
OBJECTIVE N°2
Strengthen the cooperation and networking between Vocational Tourism Schools.
OBJECTIVE N°3
Prepare education professionals for equity, diversity, and inclusion challenges in the digital learning environment.
OBJECTIVE N°4
Encourage teachers to use School Education Gateway during the project implementation and after the project activities.
TARGET GROUPS
The Imdipet projet had two different target groups. Indirect beneficiairies are key stakeholders, such as IT companies, experts in the tourism sector, policy makers, ministries or institutions in the VET field…
